CITY BY CITY TAXES
The Orange County Taxpayers Association believes that information on how much you pay, and where your taxes go is an important tool for individual taxpayers to have. Of the taxes that you pay, that partially or completely remain in the county and your individual city, Sales and Property taxes are usually the largest source. Some cities in Orange County that have a large tourist base will count their Transit Occupancy Tax (TOT) as their greatest source of tax revenue.
The most difficult to follow is Property Tax Allocation but we've created a guide that you can use, click here.
California taxpayers can be thankful that we have Proposition 13, which limits the amount your property taxes can be raised each year.
