If you haven’t had an opportunity to check out California State Controller John Chiang’s new website and you are interested in the inside details of revenue and expenditures for local government, it’s one you don’t want to miss.
By the Numbers is a searchable database that tracks revenues, expenditures, balances, liabilities and much more for California cities and counties from fiscal year 2003 – 2003 through 2014-2015.
The plan is that it will be updated each year going forward. Next steps will be to add data for each of the public pension systems statewide.
