No on Prop 15

BUSINESS CAN'T SURVIVE ANOTHER HIT

As the impacts of COVID-19 rippled throughout the country, the business community has suffered catastrophic losses. Unable to survive the economic burdens, many small businesses were forced to close their doors for good. As businesses continue to struggle, unemployment numbers remain staggering. The business community is CRITICAL to improve unemployment. You can’t have a job without one.

The Split Roll- 2020 Ballot Initiative: Proposition 15 will cause fewer jobs and reduce wages, raise prices for goods and services, magnify the housing crisis, increase the cost to do business in California, and will leave homeowners vulnerable to the complete elimination of Proposition 13 protections.  Proposition 15 is a $10-$12 BILLION tax increase on every Californian at a time we cannot afford it.

STOP the $11.5 BILLION-A-YEAR Property Tax Hike

Proposition 15 "Split Roll" will:

Will cause fewer jobs and reduce wages

Will magnify the housing crisis

Will raise prices for good & services

Will leave homeowners vulnerable to losing their Prop 13 protection.

Will increase the cost to do business in a state ranked as one of the worst in the nation.

TWISTED LOGIC

Proponents claim Proposition 15 will help fund local schools and governments by taxing an already struggling business community. However, Governor Newsoms’ draft 20-21 FY budget allocates over $84 billion dollars for K-12 education: AN ALL-TIME HIGH! With $900 million for educator recruitment and training.

The Governor has kept EXPENSIVE PET PROJECTS and GOVERNMENT PORK, including:

$4.2 Billion Bullet Train

$3 million Dog Park in Rancho Cucamonga

$40 million: Earmarked San Diego Parks & Rail

Up to 2%: Raises for retired State government officials.

$2.5 million: New Elevator in Los Angeles

SMALL BUSINESS

At a time when small businesses are desperate for rent relief to keep their doors open, Prop 15 will cause soaring rents for the property in which they operate.

FARMERS

Prop 15 does not exempt agriculture—it increases taxes on fruit trees, nut trees, grapevines, dairies, irrigation equipment, barns, and much more

FAMILIES

California's pay the highest income, state sales and gas taxes in the country. Prop 15 will drive the cost of living even higher and ultimately hurt families that are already struggling to get by.

CONSUMERS

If passed, Prop 15 taxes will be passed on to consumers on just about everything we buy and use, including groceries, coffee, fuel, utilities, day care,  health care, and more!

Amid an unprecedented economic crisis, special interests are pushing Prop 15 on the November 2020 statewide ballot that will destroy Prop 13’s property tax protections and will be the largest property tax increase in California history.
